Hunting, How Sweet IT IS!

Updated: Jun 5, 2021

A lot of people look at hunting as killing animals, barbaric, or ruthless . I beg to differ. As a young child growing up I was given the opportunity to hunt with my parents. It was memories I would never sell, trade, or regret. The bond we have and laughter and cherishing times cant be replaced. I was taught never shoot what you are not going to eat, never point guns at someone loaded or not, that firearms are not to play with, a toy or game. Respect firearms, clean them, and the safety behind them. I owned my first gun a Savage .410 at the age of 6. I love that gun, yes I was nervous to shoot it but when I did I realized how much fun it was. I use to clean it every time I shot it, and was taught to clean it every 3 months, keep it oiled, and then lock it back up so kids couldn't play with it. I believe if kids today was taught the true purpose behind guns, Gun Safety, Hunting and parents teaching and getting outdoors with their kids building bonds, guns would be looked at differently, Better control of them, and less taking of others life. Its not about who's gun is bigger, better, or faster, but what you do with it is the most important lesson to teach.

Kid's Deprived?

Kids today don't get to learn gun control, respect of life human or animals, but rather sit behind computers playing video games of killing others, war fare, mass shootings. Its ok to play these types of games, of stealing cars, killing others, running from the police, and a gangster life? Parents blame it on others, the police, the schools, and games. I have to ask though where are the parents in all this? To busy hanging with friends, working, parties, having a good time, socializing. I hear people all the time talk about taking guns away, better gun control, if they couldn't get guns it wouldn't have happen. GUNS DONT KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE! I am blessed my parents taught me how to handle guns, never point a gun at anyone except to protect myself or my family, and never shoot unless I have absolutely no other options. They always spent time with me in the outdoors, teaching me the things in life that was important to make me a better man, and don't lie, cheat, or steel, and to work hard for what you get. Animals and their patterns, what they eat, and best places to hunt. Morals and respect for others seems a thing of the past. Its go play your games I'm busy, I don't want to deal with that right now, not lets go to the lake this weekend, lets go to the mountains and hike, or go ride bikes and see the great wonders of the outdoors, or camping and building fires, and cooking over the open flames to the breath taking views, and the wildlife and learning their patterns, what they eat, and how they survive. We have to teach them at young ages all the way to adulthood. Teach them to have a kind heart, love for others, and always give a helping hand, and all people are equal, to look at a persons heart not their outer appearance.

Guns & Hunting:

Today there are so many different types of guns for hunting and types of hunting. The best hunting rifles, Long range hunting rifles, brush guns, waterfowl, hog hunting, turkey hunting, Deer Hunting, hunting stands, hunting blinds, hunting boats, hunting knives, hunting accessories. It can get confusing. Places to Hunt, hunting seasons, types of animals and when to hunt them. Scents too use, how to track them, and where they bed and what they eat. Game cameras, feeders, clothes, hunting boots, camping items. As you can see their is a lot to hunting and a lot to learn and teach our kids. My goal is to help people get out doors and enjoy quality time with their kids and make precious memories. So lets get started. I will cover only a couple topics each day and try and help you decide on which products are best and for what needs. Places to hunt for free, Public land, and how you can lease properties and places to look, or hunting clubs and where to find them.

Public Land:

Public land has mixed feelings from people. As its open to the public such as WMA’s and Federal Hunting Land. Each one of these have different rules and regulations. Also, anyone can hunt them with the correct permits. Where leases are privately hunted land, which gives hunters more options and privacy, public lands are open and chances of walking up on other hunters. As long as you are using safety precautions, marking the areas you are hunting for other hunters to see, public lands have generated a lot of trophies, as hunters are using them less these days, since there are more stringent codes and regulations and fewer hunting days. With them being in place fewer less honest hunters and non-legal hunters are not using these lands as much. Public Land also has camp sites you can use, and game wardens to help protect you from poachers, illegal hunters, and a safer place to hunt. Best thing about it though its free land to hunt and a lot of game animals to hunt year round. There is a down fall though. You have to carry the deer out either on deer carts and even seen people use double tire wheelbarrows. They now make electric bikes with a deer carrier that attaches to the back. That is a great way to get around the land and they are extremely quiet. There are millions of acres to hunt at your fingertips, you just have to get out and scout the land for the best spots and do your research with reading the DNR handbooks, and watching videos. Me and my parents hunted public lands for years and never had any issues with it. Some public lands offer bird fields and rabbit hunting as well as wide variety of other animal species. The gratitude of walking deep into the woods and harvesting a big buck is more rewarding than the work of dragging it out. It gives you a since of accomplishment to do things a lot of hunters would frown on or look the other way. Not only does it help the eco system, but brings other hunters to the lands and help preserve them. Get out and try the public lands they are not as bad as lead to be. Remember to follow the guidelines and research the best
